JIFA is excited to launch the first ever comprehensive service-learning curriculum for bar and bat mitzvah students–and it’s all about animals! We call it The Ark Project.
The Ark Project is a unique opportunity for Jewish youth to connect their love for animals to Jewish values through a bar or bat mitzvah (b’nai mitzvah) project. With its groundbreaking original curriculum, JIFA is transforming the typical mitzvah project into meaningful Jewish service-learning by combining local volunteer opportunities with Jewish texts, traditions, and stories about animal protection.
The Ark Project workbook for individual students provides all of the resources a student will need to plan, develop, and implement a service-learning project focused on animal welfare in the year leading up to their b’nai mitzvah.
